“Later when after she gave her keynote address and Ann Sherry was moderating a Q&A and I was the last person standing up, and Ann was telling me to sit down, no more questions, she told Ann no she wanted to hear my question.”
Kristal then asked and challenged Ms Ardern to champion a Procurement Policy like the IPP for Maori business, and for her to get Corporations on board just like the BCA in Australia to buy from Maori Business.
“My question ended up being the question of the night. A roar and cheer and applause filled the room,” Kristal said.
“She promised me a meeting with her High Commissioner to share my ideas further.”
The next day Kristal was able to discuss Maori Procurement further with Business Council of Australia CEO Jennifer Westacott, Supply Nation CEO Laura Berry and New Zealand Minister for Maori Development Nanaia Mahuta.
