Delivery of a 2030 Heritage Tourism Strategy was an election promise from SA Minister for the Environment Hon David Spiers which is in the process of being rolled out.
IPS Management Consultants are undertaking stakeholder engagement to ensure extensive consultation and communication around the strategy. In addition, IPS are supporting the SA Department of Environment and Water with a discussion paper and online survey, and structuring a total of 12 strategic tourism strategy workshops being rolled out across the state. The first two workshops were attended by members of the Kaurna Aboriginal community and Chairman of the Heritage Tourism Alliance Keith Conlon, a well-known and regarded South Australian media personality.
IPS SA Business Manager Susan Lee said heritage tourism played a vital part in telling stories that are unique to South Australia, and giving visitors a sense of what lay beyond the hotel room.
"The response from workshops so far is that heritage is important for communicating our identity to visitors today, formed by events of the past here in South Australia," Susan said.
IPS can offer regional tourism services in a range of areas such as regional tourism planning, product development, marketing strategy, and industry advisory. For more information, call (08) 9721 7057 to talk to one of our consultants.
