Supplier diversity in Australia is designed to level the playing field for Indigenous businesses. This means opening up opportunities that wouldn’t ordinarily be available, and competing for business opportunities on equal terms. It isn’t a hand out, but a hand up. It is not designed to discriminate positively in favour of Indigenous businesses, but rather support Indigenous economic development. Growing Indigenous businesses provides both economic and social returns. Economic development has a positive impact on Indigenous people.

IPS Management Consultants facilitate Supplier Diversity workshops with a focus on Indigenous Business procurement. Our workshops assist government and corporate staff to embed Supplier Diversity within their supply chains, and start important conversations about cultural change in relation to how and why they procure goods and services that can have a social impact.
Our workshops, which we are now facilitating virtually in 2 x 2 hour online sessions, provide a safe space for participants to engage in a dialogue, ask questions, challenge and debate their understanding of supplier diversity, their obligations in relation to procurement policies, and using Indigenous businesses.
