Our Queensland Manager Scott Anderson is a Traditional Owner of the Nywaigi people along theGreat Barrier Reefcatchment just north of Townsville.
Scott has recently been appointed to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF) Traditional Owner Technical Working Group to support the monitoring and evaluation of Traditional Owner participation in managing the Great Barrier Reef, which is Queensland's greatest natural treasure. "I get to work with a great bunch ofTraditional Ownersalong the Great Barrier Reef catchment and the amazing staff at the Great Barrier Reef Foundation," Scott said.
"The only Traditional Owner missing from this meeting was the Chairperson of the Technical Working Group, Chrissy Grant, who is leading this initiative on behalf of Traditional Owners." "Even in the middle of COVID restrictions, the GBRF have been brilliant in maximising a virtual platform for these important meetings to proceed. We are working hard to maximise engagement for Traditional Owners along the GBR catchment and I look forward to some exciting opportunities for mob in the near future."
