WA Mining Club Panel

8/8/2019

Our Commercial and Finance Director Katina Law spoke on a WA Mining Club Panel in Perth last week for the ECU Education series Indigenous Relations - It's Good Business.

The panel discussion explored balancing the needs of cultural heritage and Indigenous business opportunities in the WA Mining industry.

Various topics were discussed, including the impact of federal and state Indigenous Procurement Policies (IPP), the importance of Reconciliation Action Plans, and how to strengthen relationships with Indigenous businesses (authentically).

Further discussion on the important place Indigenous business has in the economy emphasised that engagement at this level is comparatively new to neighbouring New Zealand, whose Indigenous business sector is worth US$50billion to the AU$2billion sector.

More information on this is available in this Business News article.
