IPS Managing Director Kristal Kinsela-Christie was a panel speaker at the Women's Economic Empowerment lunch in Sydney on February 14.
Senator Michaelia Cash made the opening remarks at the event, saying that when you empower women, you empower a community.
"There is scope for an APEC work program on Indigenous empowerment for women. We would welcome the opportunity to share our experiences and learn," Senator Cash said.
Kristal told the audience that one of the great challenges we face as an Indigenous business is unconscious and conscious bias. "You're having to hustle hard to get people to take you seriously," she said.
"Culturally, there is still a long way to go in Corporate Australia. They are still so risk averse. It's still a long journey."
